Professionals today face many barriers that can stop them from getting
what they want in their professional as well as their personal lives.
Often what stops us are the beliefs that we hold about what is possible
that may limit what we are capable of accomplishing. In addition, we
may lack the key strategies necessary to achieve the success we desire.
In this well designed and empowering experience, we recognize that
when we tap into our full potential, learn key strategies, and adapt
new beliefs about what we are capable of accomplishing, we can dramatically
improve our results and “break through” to what we want to achieve.
What we thought might be difficult becomes easy. In the fast paced,
high demand world of balancing our business and professional lives,
we need tools that that help us more quickly and easily achieve what
we desire. The powerful tools and skills from this exercise will provide
an invaluable reference that can be used to accomplish even more of
what we want while remaining empowered and energized.

The Government’s Civil Litigation Alternative for Vaccine–Related Injuries
– The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.
By Andrew D. Downing
Vaccines save lives by preventing disease. A majority of people who
receive vaccines have no serious problems. However, vaccines, like
all medicines, are not risk free, and sometimes these same, well-known
vaccinations can cause side effects or adverse reactions, in certain
cases with life-threatening consequences. The National Vaccine Injury
Compensation Program was created as a no-fault alternative to the traditional
tort remedy of suing the physician and/or drug manufacturer for damages
sustained as a result of the adverse reaction. In this discussion,
we will cover the framework and requirements of the VICP, who may receive
benefits and how the VICP works, and some of the myths and truths about
vaccines and the VICP that have been so prominent in the news lately.

Estate Planning
By Emily Kembell
Most attorneys who draft trust agreements develop a set of basic forms
for various types of trusts. A large part of these forms consist of
“standard” provisions which are utilized in virtually every trust agreement,
often referred to as “boilerplate.” What tends to be overlooked, however,
is that these “standard” provisions address very important aspects
of trust administration, and the failure to rethink the provisions
may produce unexpected, and undesirable, results. This presentation
will consider many of these provisions, as impacted by changing law
and circumstances, and discuss alternatives that should be considered.
